Me
Leslie Robin Causton I was born in Guildford on 12th December 1950. My parents were George and Irene Causton who were billeted out of London during the War. I spent my early years in Bentley, Hampshire, between Farnham and Alton. I went to secondary school at Amery Hill in Alton, where I now live. While at school I had little interest in sport apart from football. However during my ‘teens and twenties’ I kept fit by running, until my knees felt the strain. It was time to look for another form of physical exercise. Cycling was the natural progression. My last big run was in 1989 when I ran the New York Marathon, finishing in the top 6,000 out of 28,000. This gave me a huge incentive to keep fit. For the last 15 years I have been a self employed Graphic Designer, this has given me the time and freedom to pursue my love of cycling. Since my renewed fitness regime last year, my knees are coping well with the added cycling and I am confident that I can conquer the Pyrenees and the Spanish Sierras in 2008. |
